Carmen, Hadley, Jane, Asya, Christine, and LIzette: Playing with food
These photographs are a brief illustration of the progression of our truffle-making experiment. We decided to display our final product on a mirror because it reiterated the uniform appearance of the truffles. This was an important aspect of our project -- we were playing with a reversed idea of food. Normally when ordering a meal (or a type of chocolate), the food's appearance makes it relatively clear what sort of flavors one can expect. The surprising flavors of our truffles contradicted our tasters' expectations of sweet chocolate that their appearance suggested. We were also curious to see how people would choose the truffles: by size, aesthetic appeal, or location.
